How to enable .htaccess support on your website (Helicon Ape).

We provide near 100% compatibility on our Windows servers for .htaccess files as used by Apache (Unix) web servers.

Our support includes the following modules: mod_rewrite, mod_proxy, mod_auth, mod_gzip, mod_headers, mod_cache, mod_expires, mod_replace and others. You can check all currently available modules in the compatibility chart (the list is growing with new builds).

In order to enable .htaccess on your website please see the instructions below:

  • Login to your hosting control panel.
  • Click Web > Web Sites.
  • Click your website you are working with.
  • Click Extensions.
  • Change the ASP.NET version to "(Integrated Pipeline)". You can select 2.0 or 4.0 depending on your required ASP.NET version. If your not using ASP.NET for your website select the highest version of ASP.NET shown with "(Integrated Pipeline)".
  • With this version selected all you need to do is upload a valid .htaccess file to your website/applications web root.
