How to add a domain alias / domain pointer.

A domain alias is called a pointer in our control panel.

Option 1 (adding a new domain to the CP as an alias):

  • Just add a new domain in the normal way (Domains > Add Domain), it will ask you if you want to point it at an existing website.
  • Choose the website from the dropdown box (and email as well if that's what you want).
  • Ensure you leave enable DNS option ticked as well.
  • That adds it as an alias (pointer).
  • If you had a free LetsEncrypt SSL certificate installed on the existing website please click here.

Option 2 (adding a domain that already exists in the CP as an alias):

If you have already added the domain to the CP, then you can still add it as a pointer:

  • Click Web Sites
  • Click the website to point it to.
  • Existing Web Site Pointers are shown at the top of that page along with the button to Add Web Site Pointer (and the option to delete existing pointers).
  • If you want to alias the email as well then go to Mail > Domains > Click the domain to point it to and you can add and delete pointers to the mail domain at the top of that page.
  • If you had a free LetsEncrypt SSL certificate installed on the existing website please click here.
