Advanced Warning - Legacy Helm Network Migrat (Resolved)
  • Priority - High
  • Affecting Server - Helm
  • At the end of April we will be migrating our legacy Helm based network to a new Rackspace owned data center close by to the existing one.
We understand these changes can be annoying for clients due to some longer than usual maintenance downtime but we have no choice but to move due to consolidation of networks by the DC owners.

Our migration services team has scheduled a date and time to relocate the network for Saturday 28th April 06:00 BST.
We expect all of the Helm servers to be unavailable for approximately 6 hours to complete the migration.

The data centre team has extensive experience migrating highly complex, mission-critical solutions and will be taking great care to physically move all servers and related equipment to the new location.

Please note this is regarding our legacy systems for users with our Helm control panel. Clients from the last few years that are hosted on our Websitepanel and SolidCP control panels are not affected by this maintenance.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding this maintenance, please contact support.

    Update 10:20:

We are way ahead of schedule and all servers are powered up and online. Engineers will be doing further tests to ensure all power and networking is stable.

Server Reboots - All UK Servers. (Resolved)
  • Priority - High
  • Affecting Server - Windows Cloud (UK HEX)
  • As some of our customers may be aware, Google's Project Zero team recently discovered a vulnerability related to all Intel-based systems running world-wide, long story short - there's a security flaw with the way in which the CPUs deal with virtual memory processing.

We have now applied the Meltdown and Spectre vulnerability patches to all of our UK servers and need to commence the rolling reboots required for the kernel updates to take effect.

We will begin the rolling reboots from 9pm GMT this evening.
We will reboot each server in turn so your services will go offline between 9pm and midnight, it's downtime should be only 10 to 20 minutes regardless of the time in which the reboot is initialized.

Thanks for your patience while we install these critical security patches.

Update: This will continue each night after 9PM until all servers are complete.

Update: This is now complete. We may have to roll out more patches in the future for the Meltdown and Spectre issues, but we are done for now and all servers are secure.
