DNS caching and flushing

ISPs and your local PCs and devices cache DNS results for short periods to help speed up your Internet experience.

This can cause developers and site owners issues when dealing with domain names, DNS, IP addresses and moving websites.

Sometimes our support technicians may advise you that your seeing a cache of a DNS result and not the true live data.

In order to speed up seeing the actual live DNS records  you may be advised to clear your browser cache and/or flush your PC/Mac's DNS cache.

You can use a global DNS checker such as the one below to see what IP address a domain/hostname is returning from all over the world. This gives a good idea if your internal DNS results are being cached or are the same as most of the world:
